Welcome and thank you for visiting my website for the
Santa Clara County
Board of Education. It has been a privilege to serve as the Trustee from
Area 1 and working to improve and expand educational opportunities for our
children in Santa Clara County. Despite some difficult times relative to
the State budget crisis, I believe that our board was able to do some good
work in improving the programs that we offer to our schools and our
students.
I will be ending my term this year and pursuing other avenues of public
service. Please know what an honor it has been for me to represent you on
the County Board of Education, and that I will continue my commitment to
children in whatever I do.
Recently, I sent out an Education Status Report to some of my constituents.
Please click here to view the report that includes the County Office of
Education's adopted budget for fiscal year 2004-2005. Since printing this
report, we have learned and am happy to report that the Office expects an
additional $583,000 due to an increase of 2.41% in COLA, 0.9% in deficit
reduction of Revenue limit funds, and a PERS reduction buy out.
